Most breeds that are outlawed or have a bad reputation are misunderstood. Whether you have a Pit Bull or a Toy Poodle, your dog can achieve a stable or unstable state of mind depending on the role you take within the pack. Wild dogs and wolves don't develop issues. The issues we have with our dogs are a result of the human influence.

Your dog is an animal and has needs that are very different than a human's. Until humans recognize and fulfill those needs, dogs will continue to end up in shelters, destroyed or abandoned.

I believe that almost every dog can be saved. Humans who are committed to their dogs and willing to recognize that they may harbor misconceptions about what a dog needs to be happy will see improvement in their dog's behavior, as long as the humans follow through.
